Obedience training should be the primary concern of all dog owners. The lack of training is the number one cause of misbehavior and disobedience in dogs. It is also the number one reason why dogs are abandoned. That's what had happened to one of our rescues, Jasper.
Learn the methods we used for Jasper and other dogs that had been abandoned. We turned Jasper from an aggressive abandoned dog into a well mannered family pet within a few weeks. The same methods can be easily applied to your dog effectively.

I’ve been around dogs for many years from working with herding dogs on our farm when I was growing up, to military K9 officer to fostering abused dogs and puppies, to our current pet consultation service. Training our own dogs has become a natural part of our lives and we do it instinctively. You can too!!
The training methods that are on this site will show you how to train your own dog at home without the cost of hiring a trainer.
Now that he's walking on a leash, lets get him to stay close to
heel
.
As he's walking to heel, he will find things he wants to eat/smell/roll in. Teach him to
leave it
.
Let him wander a little on a long leash and then get him to
come
to you on command.
Okay, he's learned to come to you when called, now get him to
fetch
and bring something back to you.
After spending a lot of quality time with him, you need some time apart. Teach him to
go to bed.
